Write to the Prisoners:

Read tips on writing to prisoners.

Media Outreach:

Write or call your local media. Ask them to do a story on the defendants, the prisoners of conscience or other political prisoners. Those responsible for the training of human rights abusers and for the use of torture manuals at the SOA have never seen a jail cell from the inside while 226 human rights activists were sentenced to over 95 years in prison and 52 years of probation and home confinement (some currently being served). Write letters to the editor.

Join or build a local SOA Watch group:
The most effective way to counter the repression is to continue our resistance.

- Make calls and/or send letters to your Representative urging her/him to support HR 1707!

Consider engaging in nonviolent direct action:
Keep the pressure on! People who put their bodies on the line to speak in solidarity with the people of Latin America are crucial in the struggle to close the SOA/ WHINSEC.

Learn more about political prisoners and join the struggle against the prison industrial complex:
Check out and get involved with the work of grassroots organizations like Critical Resistance, Families Against Mandatory Minimums, the Prison Activist Resource Center (particularly their info on prisons torture, which works to connect the torture scandals breaking out daily regarding U.S.-run prisons in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Guantanamo to the practice of torture by police and prison staff inside the U.S.), the Anarchist Black Cross Network and the Nuclear Resister.
