November Vigil: 21-23, 2008
Stand Up for Justice and Human Rights!
From November 21-23, the annual November vigil to close the SOA/WHINSEC at the gates of Fort Benning will follow the election of President Barack Obama by two weeks. It will be an opportunity for the progressive movement to set an agenda for a new direction in U.S.-Latin America foreign policy.
Last year's vigil was a great success, thousands traveled from around the country and Latin America to take part in a historic gathering where torture survivors, social movement leaders, civil rights activists, grandmothers, anti-war veterans, students, presidential candidates and members of Congress all came together to take a stand against the violence and racism that the SOA/WHINSEC represents.
