Announcing Webinar IV:
Indigenous Sovereignty and Solidarity Beyond Borders: Protecting Land and Communities
As we continue planning for the 2nd Border Encuentro in Tucson and Ambos Nogales, from November 10-12, we are excited to invite you to our fourth webinar, “Indigenous Sovereignty and Solidarity Beyond Borders: Protecting Land and Communities,” on Monday, October 16 at 7:00 pm ET.
During this session, Patricia Rodriguez from Ithaca College in New York, Andrea Carmen from the International Indian Treaty Council, and Tina Andrew from the Tohono O’odham Rights Network, will address U.S. policies that create barriers to indigenous people’s struggles for self-determination, with a focus on the border communities. They will also share strategies of resistance and community-building within and among indigenous people in the U.S. and Latin America.
