A Call for SOA Watch Peacemaker Volunteers for 2006 PDF Print E-mail
Peacemakers, along with the thousands of others, will gather at Ft. Benning with the common purpose of protesting the SOA/WHINSEC, commemorating the victims of SOA/WHINSEC graduates and celebrating nonviolent resistance.

The Peacemaker Working Group is looking for volunteers to serve as Peacemakers during this year's gathering at the gates of Fort Benning, GA. Peacemaker volunteers commit
  • To being an intentional nonviolent presence throughout the weekend
  • To assist in acting as Guides for Sunday Morning?s Solemn Procession
  • To intervene in a nonviolent manner to de-escalate any violent behavior that might occur throughout the weekend
  • To attend one of the Peacemaker Training Sessions

    The criteria for being part of the SOA Watch Peacemaker Community includes
  • Participation in at least one recent SOA Watch weekend at Ft. Benning, GA
  • Participation in a nonviolence training prior to this weekend
  • Attendance at one of the PEACEMAKER TRAINING Sessions on Friday, Nov. 17.

    The schedule for the training sessions are for Friday, November 17
  • 1:30pm - 4:00pm for First Time SOAW Peacemaker Volunteers
  • 7:30pm - 9:00pm for those who have been Peacemakers in the last three years

    Both Sessions will be held at the Convention Center

    We need many Peacemakers. Please consider volunteering and/or giving us names of others from your region who can join us, too, for this important task.
