SOA Watch Supports the One Nation Working Together October 2 Mobilization in DC! PDF Print E-mail

One Nation Working TogetherThis October 2nd, thousands will descend on Washington to make the call to Congress and the White House that we need money for jobs and education, not jails and racist attacks.  The One Nation Working Together Coalition is bringing together people of all ages, faiths, races, sex, nationalities, gender identities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and abilities to say that another U.S. is necessary, and another U.S. is possible.

SOA Watch is an endorser to the One Nation Working Together mobilization, as well as to the ONWT Peace Table, to which many of our progressive allies working for peace and against militarization are endorsers.  This is a great opportunity for us to educate other groups, organize and build alliances and shift the mainstream discourse towards the creation of a more progressive country.  The campaign to close the School of the Americas as well as ending U.S. imperialism and militarism in Latin America is inextricably linked to the efforts to end racial profiling, reform the prison system, educate our youth, end the wars abroad and create more non-military jobs.

We strongly encourage you to contact your local ONWT organizer and get on a bus or car to DC on October 2nd.  You can even offer to show a video of the campaign to close the SOA on your bus, or hand out palmcards about our November vigil!  Check here for more information about transportation: http://www.onenationworkingtogether.org/pages/transportation

If you can't make it to DC that weekend, check here for events happening in your area: http://action.onenationworkingtogether.org/soaw-no

We hope you can make it!

In struggle and solidarity,

The SOA Watch staff
