Expand the reach of Presente! | SOA Watch: Close the School of the Americas

The next issue of Presente, the newspaper of the movement to close the SOA is currently being produced. Even though the Spring 2012 issue will not become available until late February/ early March 2012, our union printer needs to know how much paper to order. Please help us print as many copies as possible, and pre-order your box of Presente today!

With over 120,000 readers, Presente is the most widely read Latin America Solidarity publication in North America and we need your help to spread the information about the School of the Americas and about the reality of U.S. foreign policy even further. We need to grow the movement to because we are up against a giant: the U.S. Pentagon. To that end, we need you to expand the network of activist distributors around the country to get the newspaper of the movement to close the SOA in as many hands as possible.

The bilingual and union printed Spring 2012 issue contains information about SOA Watch's legislative campaign and the upcoming April Days of Action, news and analysis from the Americas, updates from the Youth and Student work within SOA Watch, a report back from Theresa's trial and more.

Excellent bulk distribution points for the newspaper are community centers, coffeehouses, universities, libraries and progressive bookstores. You can also give copies to friends, neighbors and strangers, hand it out at meetings or protests and use it for your general outreach work in your community.

The more people know, the more people will speak out and take action. In the words of South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
