SOA Watch is Hiring!
Join the SOA Watch Team in DC

History is made by movements - mass movements of people who organize themselves to struggle collectively for a better world.

The movement to close the School of the Americas (SOA/ WHINSEC) is a nonviolent force to change oppressive U.S. foreign policy as represented by institutions like the SOA/ WHINSEC. It is made up of people from many backgrounds who work towards a positive and fundamentally different alternative to a racist system of violence and domination.

This movement has been tremendously successful. The SOA/ WHINSEC issue has educated thousands about the reality of U.S. intervention in Latin America and U.S. foreign policy in general. Thousands have mobilized and engaged in nonviolent direct action.

We are looking for someone great to join the staff for the movement. SOA Watch has an opening for an Advocacy Coordinator in our DC office. The position is part-time (24 hours/ week) with health benefits, paid vacation and holiday time, and there are opportunities for skills development. Some evening and weekends required. The salary is $21,000/year. We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to the grassroots movement to close the SOA/ WHINSEC. People of color and women are encouraged to apply.

Please forward this job announcement to anyone you think might be a good fit for this position. For a complete job description and information on how to apply, visit SOAW.org/work
