Converge on Washington - Speak Truth to Power!

Winter's almost over, and it's time for us to turn up the heat on Washington, DC! As the new Congress finishes its first month in office, it's up to us to let our Representatives and Senators know that we are as determined as ever, and that we will continue to mobilize to their halls of power and speak out against the School of the Americas. Join us April 7-10 in Washington, DC!

The SOA Watch movement will kick off our April Lobby Days with a Concert on Sunday, April 7th in the evening. Join SOA Watch activists from across the country as we sweat for justice on the dance floor! In the morning of Monday, April 8, join us for lobby trainings and orientations. Then, meet with your Representatives and Senators from April 9-10.

It's important that you call as soon as possible and schedule a meeting with your Representative (click here for some tips).

Now's the time to start organizing! Check out our April Organizing Packet for all the information you need to start planning your grassroots actions leading up to April, from organizing an event in your community, to staying in Washington, DC, to getting the word out through street actions!

Memory is Written on Your Skin: March 6

Since 2008, MOVICE (Colombian Victims Movement Against State Crimes) proclaimed March 6 as the day of dignity for victims of state crimes in Colombia. It is a national and international mobilization in order to highlight impunity in Colombia, state crimes and paramilitarism that continue to affect social movements in that country. MOVICE has asked international solidarity activists to join the campaign by sending photos that will be used in the March 6 mobilization. Click here to view the MOVICE Flickr page.
