We’ve started a new year and our movement continues to be stronger than ever. Together we actively challenge U.S. military and economic intervention in the Americas and together we are actively working to build a culture of peace. Our movement is ever evolving, building and advancing a new vision for our work and for a just world. We remain committed to supporting the growing leadership of youth within our movement. To that end, we are pleased to introduce a project of our Youth Collective -- Rooted in Resistance, Sembrando Soberania: Youth Encuentro in Latin America.

This youth activist summit of the Americas will be a groundbreaking opportunity for young, experienced activists from across the Americas to gather for one week in July 2014 in Venezuela. During the Youth Encuentro we will work collaboratively to draft a strategic agenda to resist various forms of militarization in our communities and close the SOA/WHINSEC, interchange ideas about local alternatives that put the rights and dignity of our people at the center, and fortify a transnational movement that transcends borders and is in solidarity with the communities most affected by U.S. militarism.

We need your help to make the Youth Encuentro a reality. Most of the young leaders who work to resist militarization and promote a culture of peace in their communities do so with little or no funding. Our goal is to gather young leaders from as many countries as possible from around the Americas, to interchange ideas and inspire our movement. Help us to make this a reality. We can only accomplish this with your support!

Please consider making a donation today. Every contribution will support the growth of youth leaders within our movement and will help us remain strong.
