Organizational Letters in Support of SOA Watch First Amendment Rights Print

SOA Watch is humbled by the great outpouring of solidarity in light of the recent actions of the Columbus police department that represent an effort to shut down the annual vigil at the gates of Fort Benning.

We are grateful to have received many letters of support from our partner organizations that criticize this new attack against the movement to close SOA/WHINSEC. For us this development is not just an attack against SOA Watch and the November Vigil, but also an attack against dissent and first amendment rights in general. The letters that we have received are an important part of our attempt to start negotiations with the city of Columbus in order to ensure a safe 25th vigil this November.

If your organization wants to join the voices of dissent, please send a letter of support via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
