As we are preparing for the upcoming November Vigil in Georgia, we wanted to let you know about two interesting events that are coming up in DC. On Saturday, November 7, Kenia Serrano from the Cuban National Assembly will speak at the University of the Disctrict of Colombia. On Tuesday, November 10, Colombian agrarian leader Oscar Gutiérrez will talk about Colombia’s Peace Process: Proposals and Concerns of Colombian Farmers at La Casa in Mount Pleasant. Here's some more information about the two events:

November 7 at the UDC Law School:
Cuba Speaks For Itself

The National Network On Cuba and the Metro DC Coalition in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution are working together with a number of other endorsers on an event with Kenia Serrano and Leima Martinez to take place on the evening of November 7, 2015 at the University of the District of Columbia.

Serrano will talk about the struggle to end all U.S. economic, political and travel sanctions against Cuba, the return of the illegally occupied Cuban territory of Guantanamo, and respect for Cuban sovereignty.

When: Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 7-10pm

Tuesday, November 10 at La Casa: Colombia’s Peace Process: Proposals and Concerns of Colombian Farmers

Colombian agrarian leader Oscar Gutiérrez Reyes will be in Washington, DC from November 9-11, 2015 to meet with policymakers, persons involved in sustainable and organic agriculture who are struggling for economic justice, universities, and media, as well as members of the Colombian community, to discuss the Colombian peace process, proposals and concerns of Colombian farmers, and possible ways forward. Join us for a public speaking event on Tuesday, November 10 at 6pm at La Casa (3166 Mt. Pleasant Street NW, Washington, DC)

The event is sponsored by the Colombia Human Rights Committee, United Workers of Washington, DC, and Three Part Harmony Farm
