Sandra Cuffe is a freelance journalist, photographer, and human & collective rights activist, who is currently based in Honduras. Sandra's photographs were published in the Fall 2009 issue of Presente.

The Fall 2009 Presente cover shows 19-year-old Isis Obed Murillo Mencias, shot and killed by the SOA grad-led Honduran army during the July 5, 2009 pro-democracy march at the Toncontín airport. One of Isis' sisters, Rebecca Murillo, is holding his picture while sitting on the back of a truck, next to the coffin with Isis' body. Sandra Cuffe took the photo the day after Isis’ murder, when the family was heading home to the city of Guayape to bury him.

Sandra Cuffe in Honduras
written by stan squires, October 05, 2009
I am from vancouver, canada and i wanted to say that it is important that Sandra is getting out the news about what is happening in Honduras. Here in Canada you don't here very much about what is happening there. This reminds me of what was happening in Gaza last winter.Fortunitly there were some journalists like Sandra Cuffe in Gaza and the real story about what happened got out to the world. It will be the working class around the world that will solve this problem. The U.S. gov. and other western govs. are part of the problem. The govs.of Cuba and Venezuela are doing what needs to be done in central and south america.
