How You Can Help Print

Through hard work and dialogue, anti-oppression activists have begun a conversation within the movement. Attendance at our events and the demand for the booklet are growing - as are the expectations for our group. The coordinating team for the upcoming protest at the SOA this November has asked the Anti-Oppression Working Group to take a lead role and make anti-oppression work a major focus at this year's gathering. Large chunks of time have been set aside for our workshops. Large chunks of money, however, have not been, because they don't exist.

Here are four ways you can help:

1) Donate! We ask that you give as generously as you are able. Those who contribute $25 or more, or who convince others to do so, will receive the very first copies of the new booklet.

A gift of:

  • $50 will cover the cost of Braille programs.
  • $100 will enable us to rent a projector to show films in Georgia.
  • $250 will sponsor one sign-language interpreter for the weekend.
  • $500 will allow us to print 100 booklets.
  • $1000 will allow us to bring an anti-oppression trainer to Georgia.

    2) Volunteer! We are always looking for new members, volunteers, trainers, writers, artists, computer geeks and anyone else with skills or time to lend. We especially need Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters.

    3) Contribute to our silent auction! Think subscription, crafts, music, books, tickets, you name it! Donated items will be auctioned off at the November rally.

    4) Share this website with others! Talk to others who might be interested in supporting our work. Please contact us if you would like more information about a specific project or would like to see a detailed budget.
