Anti-Oppression and Accessibillity in November 2004 Print
Thanks so much to everyone who made our events at the November 2004 vigil such a success!

Our events started on Saturday morning with a presentation at the plenary session and a discussion on preventing and responding to sexual offenses in our community.

Over 350 people gathered on Saturday afternoon to watch The Color of Fear and participate in a discussion led by Darren Parker.

Saturday evening Betita Martinez and Chris Crass spoke on white supremacy and recognizing white privilege to another crowd of over 350. Following her talk Betita and Darren facilitated a people of color caucus.

We were able to provide Braille, large print and Spanish programs, a seating area, wheelchair ramps and accessible bathrooms, and American Sign Language interpretation for the stage program and many workshops. Please let us know if there are other accessibility needs for future events by calling the SOA Watch office at (202) 234-3440.

Weekend Reflections and Evaluations
Betita Martinez wrote an article on the weekend and a side bar on the working group for the January issue of Z magazine.
