|Engage in Nonviolent Direct Action|
Nonviolent action has played a key role in the struggle for social change all over the world. Engage in a nonviolent direct action at the White House and the Pentagon.
As a movement dedicated to justice, SOA Watch activists have always been at the forefront of carrying out non-violent civil disobedience to call attention to the larger crimes happening around us. As the US increases its violent presence in the Americas, we must stand up again and speak truth to power.
WHITE HOUSE ACTION:
On the afternoon of Sunday, April 10th, following the conclusion of the 5th LASC Conference, SOA Watch activists and supporters plan to carry out a march and rally at the White House. The march with include speakers, puppets, music and lots of fun! Bring your friends, and bring a banner!
Once we arrive at the White House, the direct action team plans a creative and impactful civil disobedience scenario that SOA Watch activists can participate in.
There will be space for people who do not want to or cannot risk arrest in Lafayette Park (across from White House). The direct action team is working with the legal collective to explore possible jail times and fines for those who are willing to risk arrest. Please email
or call 202-234-3440 for more information.
