How to reserve tables, workshop and ad space for the November Vigil PDF Print E-mail
Written by Hendrik Voss

Workshops and Tables

SOA Watch has already started to receive workshop space and tableing requests from several individuals and organizations, so thank you! The workshops, film screenings, trainings and teach-ins are an amazing component of the vigil weekend. They are a great way to build our skills and analysis as a movement. The involvement of many partner organizations in this aspect also helps to cover the costs of the rental of the space - please consider our requested donation of $250 - $500 per workshop. Liz Albanese ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) will handle all requests for workshop spaces, and Tom Bottolene ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) will handle table requests. Click here for the table information and application document (which includes prices, important logistics, and information on how to reserve a table).

Workshop spaces are filling up fast! If you or your organization is interested in holding an event at this year's vigil, please be in touch with Liz Albanese ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) as soon as possible. We have a limited number of spaces available and they will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Ads in the Program

For the past several years, in addition to holding workshops and tabling, we have offered our partner organizations the ability to purchase ad space in the Schedule of Events and Stage Program. The Events and Stage Program will be distributed to thousands of people who travel to Columbus from all parts of the world and share our common desire for just policies in Latin America. Donating money for an ad is a great way to raise awareness about your particular organization and its campaign while simultaneously helping SOA Watch cover the cost of this year's Vigil. The donation scale for space in the program is as follows:

Full-page ad: $600
Half-page ad: $425
1/4-page ad: $300
1/8-page ad: $225
1/16-page ad: $150

We hope that you will seriously consider placing an ad in this year's Schedule of Events and Stage Program. For a copy of this year's ad rates description (sizes, and submission guidelines), click here. Please respond by Wednesday, October 14th with your ad order, indicating what size ad space you would like to purchase and include your design for the ad. If you have any questions about making a donation for ad space, please contact Liz Albanese at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Converge on Fort Benning this November!

The November Vigil has grown from a handful of people fasting for justice at the gates of Fort Benning in 1990, into one of the most important anti-militarization convergences in the Americas. From November 19-21, the convergence will feature concerts, nonviolent direct action, skill shares and trainings, teach-ins, a puppetista pageant, a mass, film screenings, panel discussions and workshops (we are renting the Columbus Convention Center!). A massive rally with amazing speakers and musicians from throughout the Americas is taking place at the gates of Fort Benning on Saturday, November 20. A solemn funeral procession will commemorate the victims of SOA violence on Sunday, November 21, 2010.

Coinciding sister vigils will take place in several Latin American countries, effectively building cross-continental movements fighting for justice and human rights.

Nonviolent Direct Action has been a key element in our campaign. Stay tuned for more information about the planning of a mass action and how you can take your resistance to violence and oppression to the next level.

Thank you for your time and all of the work that you do! We look forward to see you at this November's Vigil in Georgia!
